UEFA (55 members) The Union of European Football Associations, or UEFA, is the world's second most prominent football regulating organization. It is one of the six FIFA federations in charge of the European zone. Nonetheless, UEFA includes a number of Asian members. It follows a framework identical to FIFA's. However, since some countries are divided into two separate associations (e.g., Israel and Palestine), they can compete separately within their own division.
The first association was Fédération Internationale de Football Association, or FIFI. It was founded in France on June 10, 1913. Its initial membership consisted of Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Chile, Croatia, Denmark, England, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Scotland, Serbia, Switzerland, Uruguay, and the United States. Today, UEFA has 55 member states, three special representatives (Israel, Palestine, and Ukraine), and five associate members (Africa).
Some countries have more than one representation in international organizations. For example, Canada is represented by both the Canadian Soccer Association and the Professional Footballers' Association. Similarly, the United States are represented by both the United States Soccer Federation and the North American Soccer League.
There are several reasons why countries join international organizations. Most commonly, they want to have a say in how football is run.

FIFA is the World Soccer Federation. The Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), founded in 1904 to foster unity among national soccer associations, now has 209 members, rivaling the United Nations, and is perhaps the most prominent sports organization in the world.

FIFA is the most powerful sports organization in the world and has more power over national teams than any other organization. For example, it can grant or deny a country's application to enter international competitions such as children's events or women's events and it can also force a country to withdraw itself from certain competitions such as the men's Olympic football tournament.
