CBU is emerging as one of the greatest in the country, with several regional and national championship teams in men's and women's basketball, men's and women's swimming, men's and women's golf, softball, baseball, and wrestling. The college is also well-known for its award-winning football team.
CBU has been ranked among the top 50 colleges and universities by U.S. News & World Report since 1990. In addition, the college was listed as one of the "Best Midwestern Colleges" by Forbes in 2002 and 2003.

Additionally, CBU has been named by The Princeton Review as a "Top School" for academics. The magazine lists CBU as one of only six schools in the West (and the only Southern California school) that are consistently ranked as high as or higher than most East Coast schools.
CBU has recently been announced as one of the Top 10 College Buys for an Experience-Based Education. This ranking is based on surveys given to former students about their experiences at their chosen colleges. They were rated according to factors such as the quality of the teaching staff, involvement of students in decision-making, and overall atmosphere on campus.
California Baptist University is a Division I member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). In most sports, CBU competes in the Western Athletic Conference. Previously, the university participated in Division II of the Pacific West Conference. For the 2013-14 school year, CBU will be transitioning to Division I status and will join the Big West Conference.
CBU's athletic program has won more than 300 games over the past three decades. The university's football team has made the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) playoffs nine times, most recently in 2016. Other successful teams include men's basketball, which has made the NCAA Tournament five times; baseball, which has appeared in two College World Series; women's softball, who has advanced to the NCAA Super Regionals twice; and women's tennis, who has reached the NCAA Sweet 16 twice.
The university's main stadium is called Mathews Stadium. It is located on campus and was built in 1958. The venue can accommodate 10,000 people and is used for college football and men's and women's basketball games. There are also four other stadiums that host various events including an outdoor track and field facility called John Muir Track Stadium.
Cal Baptist has a large student body with about 2,600 students enrolled at the university.

A nurse practitioner can be expected to practice in a variety of settings, including private clinics, health departments, public health agencies, and hospitals. Nurse practitioners manage their own caseloads, provide clinical care, and may serve on hospital committees.
CBU's nursing program is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). The college is also approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing to grant degrees at the bachelor's level. Finally, CBU's nursing program meets national requirements for competence and retention of students through the implementation of periodic assessments and clinical experiences.
Students in the nursing program will be prepared for careers in acute care, ambulatory care, community health, mental health, preventive medicine, and women's health. When entering the workforce, nurses typically hold positions such as staff nurse, nurse practitioner, or licensed vocational nurse (LVN).

California Baptist University located in Loma Linda, California. The university was founded in 1925 by the Southern California Baptists. Today it has an enrollment of about 9,000 students and offers more than 30 majors.
The California Bears play their home games at the 4,500-seat Charles S. Johnson Center on the campus of Cal Baptist. The school's football team, which went 0-12 last season, has not had a winning record since 1990 when they finished 8-4. However, they did make the Division II playoffs in 2009 after finishing the season with a 6-6 record.
The California Baptist University men's basketball program has never advanced past the first round of the NCAA Tournament. They have made the tournament only twice, in 1994 when they lost to San Diego State 78-67 in the first round and again in 1995 when they were defeated by Stanford 86-64 in the first round.
