Men's basketball at Utah Utes The University of Utah men's basketball team is an NCAA Division I program that competes in the Pac-12 Conference. The Utes play their home games at Jon M. Huntsman Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. They are led by ninth-year head coach Mike Lee.
Utah began playing basketball in 1898 when it was known as Utah College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts (now known as Utah State University). The Utes were charter members of the Pacific Coast League, a now-defunct professional basketball league that lasted from 1900 to 1901. In 1902, they joined what is now known as the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and have been full members ever since. They are one of only six schools that have never missed the postseason in any year that it has been possible for there to be a post-season tournament (the others are Kentucky, Louisville, Michigan, North Carolina, and Syracuse).
Utah has appeared in seven NCAA Tournaments, winning its first game in 1969 when they defeated Houston 4-1 in the first round. They have made the Elite Eight twice, in 1999 when they lost to Kansas City Chiefs in overtime in the Midwest Region semifinals and in 2013 when they defeated Pittsburgh Pirates in the second round before losing to Duke Blue Devils in the third round.
The Utah Utes football team represents the University of Utah and participates in the Pac-12 Conference (Pac-12) of the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) of NCAA Division I.

The Utah State Aggies are a Division I men's collegiate basketball team that represents Utah State University in the Mountain West Conference. The Aggies play their home games at USU Arena on the campus of Utah State University in Logan, Utah.
Utah State has made two appearances in the NCAA Tournament: 1997 and 2018. The Aggies' overall record is 4-2. They lost all four games by an average margin of 19 points.
The Utah State basketball program was founded in 1896. From its inception until 1950, they were known as the Utah Agricultural College Basketball Team. They became the Utah State Aggies in 1951 when they moved to Division I status.
They have one national championship, won in 1947. Before that, they were champions of the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) from 1946 to '47 and again in '51. Utah State has also earned three other WAC titles: 1939, 1940, and 1945. In addition, the Aggies have won or shared eight other conference titles: 1898, 1899, 1902, 1903, 1904, 1905, 1906, and 1907.
Utah concluded the season 12-0, the school's fourth unbeaten and untied season. The Utes were one of three top-tier Division I FBS teams to finish the season unbeaten (the others being the USC Trojans and the Auburn Tigers.) In addition, they ranked second in both the AP and Coaches' polls. However, they failed to win the Pac-12 South title or reach a bowl game due to losing their last two games to rival Colorado. Still, the Utes finished with more wins than any other team in school history.
They were led by first-year head coach Kyle Whittingham who accepted the position after leading the University of California, Los Angeles to a 10-3 record during his only season as its head coach. He was named the No. 1 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft by many analysts including ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. He is the son of former BYU and San Diego Chargers head coach Mike Whittingham and the brother of New York Jets quarterback Josh Whittingham.
In their final game of the season, the Utes defeated Colorado 34-31 in overtime to claim the Pac-12 South title and a spot in the Las Vegas Bowl against Georgia Tech. It was also senior night for the team and junior center Tyler Jones was named the most outstanding player of the season. This was also Utah's first undefeated season since 1992 when they went 11-0-1.
The Washington Huskies men's basketball team competes in the Pac-12 Conference for the University of Washington in NCAA Division I collegiate basketball. The school's home games are played at Hec Edmundson Pavilion on the university's Seattle campus. The Huskies are led by second-year head coach Mike Neighbors.
Washington has appeared in the NCAA Tournament nine times, most recently in 2017. The Huskies have made the tournament every year since their first season (1946-47) except for a one-season absence due to World War II. They have never advanced past the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
Besides competing in basketball, the University of Washington also sponsors a football team that plays in the Pacific Northwest Athletic Association. The Husky football team has won two national championships - one in 1978 and another in 1983 when they were co-champions with Penn State - and eight conference titles.
The Huskies' other sports teams include a women's soccer team, a women's golf team, a women's tennis team, a women's beach volleyball team, a women's gymnastics team, and a women's indoor track and field team. Each sport has had at least one All-American selectee over the last decade.
