The Wallabies play in the traditional Australian sports colors of green and gold. Australia's Wallabies The Australian national rugby union team, also known as the Wallabies, is the country's representative national team in the sport of rugby union. The squad played its first test match in Sydney in 1899, defeating the touring British Isles team. They have not lost a test match since 1901 when they were beat by England at home.
Australia has won the most Rugby World Cups with seven victories. Their last loss was in 2003 when France beat them 35-34 in the final game of the tournament held in Australia and New Zealand.
The Wallabies nickname comes from the British term for an infantry soldier who mounts guard duties at military outposts. Aussie fans love their sports teams so much that they name them after every single one of them! The Australian cricket team is also known as "the Australians" or simply "the Baggers".
Australia is famous for its wildlife, including kangaroos, koalas, dolphins, and alpacas. It is also the home of the desert bunny - the quokka. And while you're there, don't forget to try some seafood! The ocean surrounds Australia, so it makes sense that it would be home to many types of fish. There are several species found only in Australian waters, including the box jellyfish, which can cause serious pain for humans if not treated quickly enough.

Many Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have proudly represented the Wallabies throughout the sport's history, establishing a lasting legacy for many young First Nations children to aspire to. The following is a list of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander players in chronological order of debut.
The first known Aboriginal player to represent Australia was Tommy Taylor, who made his debut in 1908 against New Zealand. Since then, several more Aboriginal players have been selected by Australian coach/selectors, most recently Richard Stanlake in 2008. However, only five have actually played for Australia: David Furner, Ron Clarke, Danny Clark, Tony Currie, and now Richard Stanlake.
In addition to these five players, four other individuals have been selected as reserve-grade players by Australian coaches, but not yet given national honours: Trevor Chappell (1967), Graham "Polly" Farmer (1981), Phil Burgess (1984), and Adam Gibson (2009). Finally, two players have been selected as senior development players (SDPs) by Australian coaches but have never been given an opportunity to play at test level: Michael O'Connor in 2000 and Jason Nightingale in 2009.
O'Connor and Nightingale both came from good backgrounds with strong family ties to rugby.

In 1907, the Australian rules football code became codified into an official rule set called "The Varsity Match". This annual match between the University of Melbourne and University of Sydney is still played today under the same format as it was then. It is one of the most important sporting events in Australia and attracts large crowds every year.
The Australian Baseball League (ABL) was formed in 1995 by a group of business people who believed that baseball was not being marketed aggressively enough in Australia.
