Diego Armando Maradona (October 30, 1960 – November 25, 2020) was an Argentine professional footballer and manager. He was largely recognized as one of the best players in the sport's history. He shared the FIFA Player of the Century accolade with another player.
The two players were judged by their peers to be the most successful players during the first 100 years of the modern game. They both had more than 10 million votes from journalists around the world.
Maradona won a record five World Cups with Argentina, becoming only the second player after Pele to achieve this feat. He is also the only player to have scored in each of the first three rounds of a World Cup.

He has been called the Mario Kempes of Mexico due to his ability to score goals and is regarded as the greatest Mexican player of all time. He currently manages Club America.
