Scottie spent 17 seasons with the Chicago Bulls (1987-1998), Houston Rockets (1998-99), and Portland Trailblazers (1999-2000). (1999-2004). He was named an All-Star 11 times, won the NBA Most Improved Player Award in 1992, and was voted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2019.

Pippen played high school basketball but graduated at 6 feet 1 inch (1.85 metres). He was drafted by the Bulls after playing two seasons at the University of Missouri.
He had an immediate impact on their franchise history, leading them to the best start in league history at 15-1 and winning his first championship that year. The following season, he helped the team win its second title in three years. Pippen opted out of his contract after that season and became a free agent. He decided to retire from basketball after nine seasons because he felt like he could have continued playing at a high level. However, he did return for one final season with the Bulls in 1998-99. At the time of his retirement, he was considered one of the greatest power forwards in NBA history.
After ending his career, Pippen started a sports agency called SP Basketball (later renamed SPI Sports). He has worked as a consultant for several teams including his former team, the Bulls, and he has also done color commentary for NBA games on ESPN since 2004.
In 2008, Pippen was named the No. 2 all-time leader in blocks by the NBA.

In 1995, Pippen was named the MVP of the NBA Finals after scoring 33 points in a winning effort over the Orlando Magic.
After eight more years with Chicago, where he always came off the bench, he signed as a free agent with the Los Angeles Clippers in 2004. He ended his career after one season when he announced his retirement due to a knee injury.
