At age 13, Rice began training with Australian swimming legend Bob Webster at his academy in Brisbane. She turned pro at 15 and has not looked back since. In addition to being a member of the Australian team, she also plays basketball for the Queensland Firebirds of the Women’s National Basketball League (WNBL).
Rice made her international debut at the 2008 FINA World Swimming Championships in Beijing, where she and her teammate Emily Seebohm won a gold medal in the 200-meter individual medley. At the 2012 London Olympics, Rice helped her country win another gold in the same event by swimming the second leg of the final match against Japan. She also competed in the 400-meter individual medley but did not make it to the finals stage.
In April 2014, Rice announced that she would be leaving swimming to focus on playing basketball. However, she promised to return to the pool once per year for world events.
She is currently ranked number one in the 100m free and 200m individual medley by the International Swimming Federation (FINA).
Stephanie Rice retired at the age of 24 with three Olympic gold medals, two Commonwealth gold medals, two silver medals, and five bronze medals from global championships. She remains one of only eight athletes to have won gold medals in three different disciplines at the same Olympics (bronze in 2000, silver in 2004, and gold in 2008).

Betty Nguyen was born in California on January 4th, 1984. She is an American football player who plays as a defensive end for the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League (NFL). Her birth name is Betty Nguyen-Willis.
Nguyen attended high school in Houston, Texas where she played basketball and American football. She then went on to play college football at UC Davis before being drafted by the Cowboys in the seventh round of the 2008 NFL Draft. Since her debut in 2009, she has won two Super Bowls with the Cowboys, in 2014 and 2015.
After three seasons with the Cowboys, she joined the Seattle Seahawks in 2016 and won another Super Bowl title. In 2017, she returned to the Cowboys where she currently plays. Over the course of her career, Betty Nguyen has won 28 games including two Super Bowl titles. She has also been named to several All-Pro teams.
