According to Business Insider, there are 250 Muslim players in England’s top division. This is the highest number of any sport in Britain.
Here are the other major sports in England and how many Muslims they have:
Basketball - 1,500 athletes
Hockey - 2,000 athletes
Rugby - 160,000 fans at a game vs. Wales in 2014
Cricket - 1.5 million fans at a test match between England and India in 2011
Athletics - 4 million fans at an outdoor championship event in 2015
Golf - 800,000 fans at The Open Championship in 2015

League football - 360,000 fans at a game between Liverpool and Manchester United in 2015
Volleyball - 80,000 fans at a tournament among eight countries with volleyball in 2004
Twitter/@teofcelik The Premier League has 42 Muslim football players in total. Keep in mind that the transfer window is still open at the time of writing, so one or two players may still go.
The majority of Muslims play football as a hobby; they may play it for fun or use it as an opportunity to get away from work and study. However, some Muslim athletes do it as a source of income since they believe it is morally wrong to profit from sportsmanship.
As far as we know, there are no Muslims who compete in the Olympics. But many Olympic athletes come from Muslim countries such as Iran, Turkey, and Egypt, so this might just be because they’re not recognized as a separate category yet? We’ll have to wait and see.
England has around 4,000 professional footballers. This number includes those who play for the national team and those who do not (they are called “footballers” even if they never play a match). The total amount of men’s professional footballers in the country is therefore about 16,000.
The highest number of footballers from one country playing in one international tournament was the England squad of 1950 which participated in the World Cup in Brazil. Of these players, three were born in England (Billy Wright, John Charles Edwards, and Albert Stubbins), four were born in Scotland (Jimmy Dickinson), and one was born in Ireland (Dixie Dean). The only player from outside Europe is Mieczysław Smolak who came from Poland.
After the World Cup, five Englishmen joined the national team: Bobby Moore, Gary Lineker, Alan Shearer, Paul Gascoigne, and David Beckham.
Lineker became the most successful player in the history of the English game with his achievements at international level. He scored 126 goals in 181 matches for England between 1978 and 1988, a rate of 70 goals every other game.
Among them are Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, Manchester United’s Paul Pogba, Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil, Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante and Kurt Zouma, and Manchester City’s Riyad Mahrez. The globalization of football has contributed to the rise in the number of Muslim players. For example, seven out of the Top 10 highest-paid athletes in the world are soccer players.
There have been reports of some professional footballers not drinking alcohol or using drugs. These reports include statements by former players that they never used drugs or alcohol while playing for their teams.
However, other reports claim that some players do use drugs or drink alcohol. There have also been cases where players have died after testing positive for banned substances at autopsy. Tests of players who have died while still under contract with a club are often withheld from public view because their contracts contain confidentiality clauses which prevent them being released by the club without her permission.
It is difficult to estimate how many Muslims play football because data on religion are rarely collected by sports organizations. However, it is known that Islam is widely practiced across Europe and America so the number of Muslims involved in football must be high.
The vast majority of footballers are not religious as estimated by studies of Muslim communities in Britain and France. According to these studies, only 1% of footballers identify themselves as Muslim.
It is believed that there are 250 million association football players worldwide, with many more participating in various kinds of football. The number of professional players is estimated to be around 20,000. That means that there are about one professional player for every 500 people on the earth.
The most popular sport in the world, association football or soccer can be played by two teams of eleven players on a field within a stadium or venue. There are several different types of games that can be played during a soccer match. The two main types are regular season games and championship matches or tournaments.
A regular season game is played over approximately a month period of time with each team playing all other teams twice. This gives each team a chance to demonstrate their ability and determine who will play in what kind of tournament. A championship match or tournament involves two or more teams competing head-to-head until only one remains. This final match could be a single game or it could be through to a series of matches until only one team is left standing.
The best-known tournament is called “The World Cup”. The first edition was in 1930 with Germany as the winner. There have been subsequent editions every four years since then with Germany again being the current champion.
As of July 8, 2021, 111 foreign-born players had represented England out of a total of 750. This is by far the highest number of foreign-born players from one country to represent England at any single event.
France has the next highest number of foreign-born players with 46 representatives while Argentina and Colombia have each sent up to five players overseas. There are no non-Europeans left in the tournament.
Here is the list of countries of origin for those who have played for England: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Chile, China, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Ecuador, Egypt, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Latvia, Lithuania, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, San Marino, Scotland, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, United States.
England has never been relegated from an international tournament nor has their national team ever failed to qualify for a major event. The only time they did not qualify was in 1936 when they lost out to Germany in the final match of the European Championship qualifier stage.
