14 Grand Prix Williams has 14 Grand Slam doubles championships to her name, all with her sister Venus, and the duo is unblemished in Grand Slam doubles finals. Serena has more singles titles (24) than any other player in history.
They are the only pair to have won the same slam in consecutive years (2001 and 2002 at the Australian Open). The only others to do so are the Rodenbergs & Stoners who were champions in 1913 and '14. Before the Open Era started in 1968, several players had won multiple slams before 2008, but none have done it since then. The last player to win multiple slams in a year was Steffi Graf, who won the 1990 Australian Open and the US Open that year.
Serena and Venus have been together on the court for every one of Serena's doubles wins. They have never played against each other in a Grand Slam doubles event, but they have reached the final of every slam at which they have competed together. The only exception is the 2003 French Open, when Serena was forced to retire with an injury before their semifinal match against the Hubbard sisters from Canada began.
So, Serena has a record number of doubles titles to her name and that makes her the most successful double winner in tennis history.

The two have continued to face each other regularly in high-profile events, with Serena currently holding a 23-6 record over Venus. Of those six losses, four came in finals: the 2009 Wimbledon Championships women's singles final, the 2011 Australian Open women's singles final, the 2014 French Open women's singles final, and the 2017 Wimbledon Championships women's singles final.

There she met well-known tennis player Larry Williams, who convinced her parents to let Venus pursue a career in tennis.
Larry Williams died when Venus was just 16 years old.
