Oleg Salenko is the first World Cup player to have scored five goals in a single game. During the 1994 FIFA World Cup encounter between Russia and Cameroon, he did this. The record is still intact today.
He scored once in the first half and then again in the second half of the game with just over 10 minutes remaining. His first two goals came in the 23rd and 50th minutes while his third goal came in the 43rd minute. His fourth goal came in the 61st minute and his fifth goal came in the 64th minute. He finished the game as a virtual captain as Russian coach Vladimir Karpin brought him on as a substitute in the 58th minute.
After scoring five goals in one match, Oleg Salenko became only the second player after Pele to do so during the World Cup. He also remains the only player to have scored five goals in a single game while playing for Russia. The 1994 World Cup was his moment and he took full advantage of it by scoring five goals.

Ali Daei of Iran is the first male player in international football history to have scored more than 100 goals, with 109 in his career. For 47 years after his 84th goal against Austria in 1956, the second player to score 50 goals in international football held the record for the most international goals with 84. In 2007, Lukas Podolski broke this record with his 87th goal, becoming the first player to score 90 or more goals in international play. Since then, another German player, Miroslav Klose, has further extended this record with 91 goals.
Daei started his professional career at the age of 18 with Persepolis. He joined Na'in in 1950 and helped them win the national championship that year. The following season, he moved to Esteghlal where he remained for five seasons. In 1955, he returned to Na'in and stayed there until he retired in 1960 at the age of 30. During that time, he won two Iranian titles, three Asian Cups and was part of the team that played in the 1958 World Cup. After retirement, he worked as an assistant coach under Abou Madyan at Na'in before returning to Persepolis as manager in 1971. He managed the club for four more years before moving on to Taj SC. He died in Tehran at the age of 46 after suffering from cancer. His number 10 shirt was later taken over by his son Ali Jr. who also became a professional footballer and currently plays for Na'in.
On June 14, 1925, he earned his 36th cap against Sweden in the 1924-28 Nordic Football Championship. This is also the fewest amount of games in which any player has scored 50 goals. In his international career, he scored 52 goals in 38 games. He ended his career with Chinese Soccer League club Beijing FC.
He made his debut on August 2, 1925, when he scored four goals in a 10-4 win over Norway. His last game was on November 1, 1935, when he scored another four goals in a 12-1 victory over Denmark. Han Shuangbao had an amazing career scoring 150 goals in 100 matches. He is still the record holder for most goals scored by a single player in a single tournament. He won the gold medal with China at the 1928 Summer Olympics.
After retirement, he worked as a coach and manager of several clubs including Beijing FC, where he was president from 1953 to 1955. He died in Beijing at the age of 68.
