The first Super Bowl was held in 1967. The Green Bay Packers won 35-10 over the Kansas City Chiefs. The Packers would also go on to defeat the Oakland Raiders in Super Bowl II (33-14). This makes them the first team to win the Super Bowl.

Both teams entered the game with 10 wins and 6 losses. The Packers had a winning record (4-1-1), while the Raiders were 1-1-1.
The Raiders defeated the Vikings 27-7 at home before traveling to Milwaukee for a match up with the Brewers. There they lost 20-9. Their only other loss came at the hands of the Chicago Bears, 28-14. The Packers also had one loss during that time period, to the Giants in New York. That was their only defeat during the season opener. They went on to win their last nine games including playoffs games against the Lions (17-16) and the Chiefs (23-7).
The Raiders didn't have such an easy road to the championship. They started out 0-3 before winning three straight games. Those included two over previously unbeaten teams (the Chargers and Texans). They finished the season with a victory over the Eagles in Philadelphia. The Raiders dominated the game from start to finish - they gained 459 yards compared to the Eagles' 94. They also scored 21 points while allowing just seven points themselves.
The inaugural Super Bowl was held on January 15, 1967. It was initially known as the "AFL-NFL World Championship Game," as it arose from a merger between the National Football League (NFL) and the American Football League (AFL). It was held in the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in Los Angeles, California. The host city had been selected by league presidents during their meeting in October 1966 -- three days after the NFL's regular season ended.
The game was played two weeks before Easter, which didn't give fans enough time to buy tickets or make other plans for that weekend. So when advertisers asked for extensions on their TV contracts because of the late date, the NFL agreed to change the date of the championship game. $40 million was invested in the event by both leagues combined. This is the highest amount of money ever spent on a single sporting event at that time.
The AFL won its first Super Bowl, defeating the NFL's San Francisco 49ers 21-17 in Miami. The victory gave hope to fans of the original six teams in the AFL that there was a future for them in the new league. However, it took another four years before their next chance to prove themselves. By then, the number of AFL teams had dwindled to just six, so it wasn't until 1970 that there was another chance for the original six to win a title.
The last time an original NFL team won the Super Bowl was in 1972.
The Super Bowl, in particular, is a game that fans enjoy deconstructing after it has occurred. Unfortunately, the inaugural Super Bowl game has been virtually forgotten by history. Save for one cassette collection that will most likely never see the light of day.
According to The New York Times, on January 15, 1967, a guy named Martin Haupt attended Super Bowl I, in which the Green Bay Packers defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 35-10, and taped the event for posterity.
The Redskins won their first Super Bowl, defeating the Dolphins 27-17. On January 30, 1983, the game was held in the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California. The victory gave head coach a chance to become only the second African-American manager to guide his team to a World Championship (the other being Joe Girardi with the 2009 New York Yankees). It also made him just the third black manager in NFL history (after John McNulty of the Chicago Bears and Willie Wilson of the San Francisco 49ers) and the first since 1957 when Chuck Knox led the Redskins.
This championship is considered one of the most dominant championships in NFL history because it came right after they lost two straight Super Bowls. Also, it was not expected by many that they would be able to beat Miami due to them being favored by many people. But thanks to an aggressive play by Pete Carroll and Doug Flutie, along with some mistakes by the Redskins, they were able to pull off the victory.
They used a shotgun formation on most of their plays, which required a QB who could throw from that position.
