Superstar LeBron James During the Los Angeles Lakers' 108-95 triumph against the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday, LeBron James joined an elite club of one. According to ESPN's Dave McMenamin, James' 13 assists brought his career total to above 9,000, making him the only player in NBA history with 30,000 points, 9,000 rebounds, and 9,000 assists. James received ovation from both teams after finishing with 14 points, nine rebounds, and nine assists in Miami's win over Dallas last week.
James became the ninth player in NBA history to reach the 9,000-point mark during Monday's game against the New York Knicks. The four-time MVP now has 4,987 career points after scoring eight points in Miami's win over the Knicks. He also had three rebounds, nine assists, and a steal in 28 minutes off the bench.
James, who was named the MVP of the league's all-star game this year, is expected to be a strong candidate for the award this season. He will be able to make another significant contribution to his legacy by reaching the 10,000-point milestone this season.
In addition to James, there are nine other players in NBA history who have reached the 9,000-point mark: Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, Walt Frazier, Bill Russell, Shaquille O'Neal, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Tim Duncan, and Kevin Durant.
