1 Carli Lloyd Lloyd is the highest-paid female footballer in 2020, and no one can argue that she is not deserving of the distinction. The Sky Blue FC standout has been a pillar of consistency since her debut in 1999, and she is widely regarded as one of the top players in the world. With three Women's World Cups under her belt, two Golden Boots, and a FIFA Women's World Player of the Year award to her name, there's little doubt that Lloyd is at the top of her game and deserves every penny of her $500,000 annual salary.
Lloyd's career earnings exceed $4 million. She has signed endorsement deals with Nike, Gatorade, and Coca-Cola, among others.
Other notable women footballers include American Abby Wambach and England's Alex Scottington. Both players earn a small amount through sponsorship deals and appearance fees but no one would accuse them of being rich men's toys because they love their jobs.

Carli Lloyd has surpassed Alex Morgan and Megan Rapinoe to become the highest-paid female footballer in the world. The American striker earns $100,000 per month (€95,800) through her contract with NWSL club Portland Thorns.
Lloyd's salary makes her the first female soccer player to be awarded such a large sum. She signed with Portland in February 2019 and since then she has been unbeatable for goals scored. In April 2019, Lloyd not only won the Women's World Cup with the United States but also became the most expensive female football player after signing a two-year contract with £250,000 ($312,750) per season. Her previous salary was $60,000 per year.
Rapinoe is the second highest-paid female soccer player with a monthly salary of $10,000. She is part of the national team that won the 2015 Women's World Cup held in Canada and the 2018 Women's World Cup held in France. Rapinoe has a contract with French club Reign FC that runs until 2021 and pays her an annual salary of $150,000.
Morgan is the third highest-paid female soccer player with a monthly salary of $9,000.

In 2001, she joined national team training sessions and a year later, she made her international debut in a match against China. Since then, she has never stopped playing and in 2004, she was awarded her first cap. Today, she is one of Australia's most important players and has been included in all of her country's matches since her debut.
Barbieri is also one of the best female soccer players in terms of saves percentage. In 2008, she had a save rate of 80% and this number is expected to rise even more in 2009 when she will be playing all games for Sydney FC.
She has been nominated for an Asian Cup medal every time the tournament has been held in Asia (except during the World War II era) and she has never won but has come close on several occasions.
