The Deutscher Baseball und Softball Verband (German Baseball and Softball Federation) is the national regulatory organization, and the premier baseball league is the 1. Baseball Bundesliga. Max Kepler is the only German-born player in Major League Baseball right now. He plays first base for the Minnesota Twins.
Kepler was born in Ehingen, Germany on January 4th, 1992. He moved to America when he was nine years old and has been playing baseball ever since. During his childhood, he trained with the Milwaukee Brewers organization from 2014 to 2016. In 2017, he joined the Minnesota Twins and has been there since. Kepler has also played in the All-Star Game twice. His first appearance came in 2015 when he was still with the Brewers. His second one came this year while he was with the Twins.
He currently ranks number four in MVP voting behind Mike Trout, Bryce Harper, and Paul George.
Kepler made his debut in the MLB on April 5th, 2013 against the Houston Astros. At the time, he was just 17 years old and had already been playing professional baseball for two seasons. The Twins lost that game 3-0. Since then, he hasn't stopped winning: both with the Brewers and the Twins, Kepler has always finished in the top five of MVP voting.
Baseball was first mentioned in Germany in a sports book published in 1796 by the German writer Johann Christoph Friedrich GutsMuths, who was writing about schlagbal, a very old German-Austrian game. The book had an illustration of two men playing baseball.
Kepler made his MLB debut on April 17, 2016. He played for the Minnesota Twins at third base that day and hit a single. It took him five years to appear in his first game. Before making his debut, he spent time with three different teams - the Twins, Houston Astros, and Arizona Diamondbacks - appearing in 100 games or more for each.
He also has Mexican citizenship because he was born in Germany. Kepler's father worked as a car mechanic and his mother was a cook before they died when he was young. He moved to Mexico when he was seven years old to live with an uncle and aunt. They helped him learn Spanish and play soccer. After one year, he returned to Germany because his parents had been killed in a car accident. He decided to pursue a career in baseball instead.
In Europe, there are several other countries besides Germany who have baseball teams. Countries such as Spain, Italy, France, and Japan all have baseball leagues and teams. But none of them are as big as the MLB so most of the players on their rosters are foreign.
Today and in the past, the bulk of professional baseball players have come from North America, primarily the United States. In the United States alone, there are hundreds of baseball clubs and leagues. Cuba, the Dominican Republic, and Puerto Rico are among the other American nations where the sport is practiced.
In terms of numbers, baseball is played by people all over the world, but it is only popular in a few countries with strong national identities. The most players per country are found in the Americas, especially in Latin America and Brazil. Japan has the highest percentage of male athletes participating in baseball - nearly one in five - while China has the lowest ratio of participation, with just under 1 percent of its males playing the game.
In general, more men play baseball than women, which is common for sports that use a strikeout to score points. However, women are important elements within the baseball industry; they work as coaches, managers, and officials while some have tried their hands at playing baseball too. A number of female players have become famous throughout the world due to their skill on the field, including Ruth Bradley, who plays first base for the San Diego Padres of the Major League Baseball (MLB) league; and Jessica Mendoza, who was selected by her country to play baseball at the 2012 Olympics in London.

Ichiro is baseball's top contact hitter. With 262 hits in a season, he holds the record for most hits in a season. His 333 lifetime batting average ranks second only to the great Albert Pujols, who is presently hitting.334. Ichiro has been criticized for not doing enough in the field, but his.992 career fielding percentage shows that he is a good fielder. Many believe that if he played in the United States, he would be even more popular than he is now.
