Crawford's average of 2.5 four-point plays per game places him second behind Moses Malone (2.6). In addition, he averages 1.3 fouls drawn per game, which ranks third among active players.

Crawford's coach with the Dallas Mavericks, Rick Carlisle, says that his player can score from anywhere on the court and it doesn't matter if it's during practice or a game, so coaches just give him the green light whenever possible.

Obviously, the further you are from the hoop, the more points you should receive from a good shot. In basketball, it is theoretically feasible to make a four-point play, but not a four-point shot. A four-point play occurs when a player is fouled while making a three-point shot and then makes the free throw. It can also happen if a player gets four calls on him during one possession. In that case, he would get six free throws during that time frame and could make two more three-pointers before the end of the game.
In practice, however, it's extremely rare for a player to make all four shots during one possession. The only player who has done so in an NBA game was Vince Carter with the Toronto Raptors in 2001. He made all four of his field goal attempts at the end of that first quarter, including the free throw that tied the game at 36 apiece. That single moment earned him a place in Raptor history as the guy who made four free throws in a row. Since then, no other player has been able to repeat this feat.

Chamberlain's record has been surpassed many times but it never seems to last long. In 1998, Karl Malone scored 71 points in a game for the Utah Jazz, breaking Chamberlain's record. The record for most career points in an NBA game belongs to Moses Malone, who scored 103 in 1983. Since his retirement, no other player has even reached the 70-point mark.
Malone's record will likely not be broken since there have only been 12 players selected in the NBA Draft since then.
