Ubaldo Jimenez Garcia (born January 22, 1984) is a former professional baseball pitcher of Dominican descent. He played for the Colorado Rockies, Cleveland Indians, and Baltimore Orioles in Major League Baseball (MLB). Jimenez was a 2010 MLB All-Star.
He debuted on April 17, 2006, against the San Diego Padres at Coors Field. He pitched eight innings and gave up four runs (three earned) on ten hits while walking three and striking out nine. The Rockies lost 4-0.
His first major league win came two days later against the Padres at Mile High Stadium. He pitched seven strong innings and only allowed one run on five hits while walking two and striking out eleven. The Rockies won 1-0.
Jimenez finished his rookie season with a 3.12 ERA in forty-two games (eight starts). He pitched 267 innings with 257 strikeouts and sixty-one walks. His 3.12 ERA was ninth among all National League pitchers who had at least forty-two decisions made against them.
In 2007, Jimenez started thirty-four games for the Rockies, finishing second in the NL in wins with sixteen. He also ranked third in the league in strikeouts with 215. He had a 3.47 ERA and 1.16 WHIP (walks plus hits per inning pitched).
Jimenez no-hit the Atlanta Braves 4-0 at Turner Field on April 17, 2010, the franchise's first no-hitter. He struck out 7, walked 6, and threw a career-high 128 pitches (72 for strikes).

He also played for the New York Yankees from 2010 to 2013, the Minnesota Twins from 2014 to mid-2016, and the San Francisco Giants from mid-2016 to mid-2017 in Major League Baseball.
The Red Sox selected Nunez with the 18th pick in the 2006 MLB draft after he batted.443 his senior year at Stony Brook University. He made his major league debut on September 1, 2010. In 2011, he was 9 for 9 in steal attempts that year. In 2012, he had more passed balls than any other first baseman in the league (38).
Nunez's brother, Jordany, is also a baseball player who plays third base for the Los Angeles Dodgers. They are both sons of former major leaguer Edgardo "Ed" Núñez. The younger Núñez brothers were both born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. They moved to the United States when they were young so their parents could pursue professional careers.
Eduardo Núñez has two children with his wife, Maritza. They are a son named Ezequiel who was born in 2012 and a daughter named Emilia who was born in 2016.

Nelson Cruz Nelson Cruz Ramon Cruz Martinez (born July 1, 1980) is a free agent Dominican-American professional baseball right fielder and designated hitter. He has played with the Milwaukee Brewers, Texas Rangers, Baltimore Orioles, and Seattle Mariners in Major League Baseball (MLB).
He has been nicknamed "Superman" because of his ability to hit home runs into the stands at Camden Yards. The home run he hit which was out of Oriole Park at Camden Yards reached 302 feet according to video board footage. It was the first time anyone had hit a ball out of that park and onto Harbor Drive. The previous record was held by Giancarlo Stanton who hit a 468-foot shot in 2017.
Cruz made his MLB debut on April 17, 2005, against the San Diego Padres. In his rookie season, he finished with 39 homers and 102 RBIs. He became only the third player from the Dominican Republic to win the Home Run Derby (Alex Rodriguez and Mark McGuwire are the others), and only the second after McGuwire to have more than one year as a major league regular (399 games played in 2006).
After another strong season in 2007 (45 homers, 131 RBIs), Cruz was awarded the National League Rookie of the Year Award. He turned down $4 million from the Brewers to become a free agent after the season.

From 1993 until 2006, he was a first baseman, third baseman, and outfielder in Major League Baseball and the Nippon Professional Baseball League. He played for the San Diego Padres, Chicago White Sox, Los Angeles Dodgers, Houston Astros, and Boston Red Sox.
He made his major league debut on April 17, 1993 against the Cincinnati Reds at age 27. The Padres were then playing their home games at California/Stanford Stadium due to renovations being done to Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum. In that game, he hit a three-run home run off of Tom Candiotti to help lead San Diego to a 9-7 win over its NL West rival.
In 1995, he finished second in MVP voting to Greg Maddux of the Atlanta Braves. That same year, he led all of baseball with 49 doubles and was also among the leaders in hits (3rd), runs (4th), walks (5th), extra base hits (6th), total bases (7th), and batting average (.335).
In 1996, he set a new record by reaching base safely via walk or hit by pitch 568 times during a single season. This mark has since been broken but it still remains as the most in MLB history.

He played for the Dodgers from 1997 to 2001 and the Rockies from 2002 to 2003. Blanco returned to the Dodgers in 2004 and 2005 before being traded to the Rockies in 2006.
After his playing career ended, he became a coach on the Dodgers' coaching staff. As a coach, he has worked with rookie pitchers and catchers, as well as with veteran players like Clayton Kershaw and Adam Dunn.
He has been praised for his work with young pitchers such as Josh Beckett, Jason Hammel, and Ted Lilly.
Blanco has also received some attention for his handling of veteran players. After Blake DeWitt complained about not getting enough pitching time, manager Joe Torre assigned him to Class A Short Season Vancouver in 2007. When DeWitt failed to report to Vancouver, the Dodgers sent out a warrant for his arrest. Eventually, DeWitt was suspended by the team for 30 days after it was discovered that he had lied about having family issues as an excuse for not reporting.
During that same season, Rafael Furcal had surgery to remove bone spurs from his heel.
