Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro GOIH ComM (born 5 February 1985) is a Portuguese professional footballer who plays as a forward for the Serie A club Juventus and captains the Portugal national team. He is considered one of if not the best player in the history of football and has been named the greatest player of all time by several publications and organizations. Ronaldo scored a record number of goals in a calendar year with 52 goals in 2015. He has also won every major international trophy available, including the Champions League, UEFA Europa League, FIFA World Cup, and UEFA European Championship.
He played for five clubs during his career, beginning with Madrid CF and ending with Juventus FCA. He spent seven seasons with Madrid, winning four La Liga titles, two Copas del Rey, and one Supercopa de España. After helping Portugal win the UEFA Euro 2016 tournament, he announced that the final was his last appearance at a European Championships. At international level, he is the all-time leading scorer with 105 goals in 110 appearances for Portugal. He has won the Golden Ball, Silver Boot, and Golden Shoe awards at the UEFA Men's Player of the Year Award ceremony.
Ronaldo started his career at Madrid when he was nine years old after being spotted by staff members of the club while he was playing in a local stadium.

Currently, he is playing for Italian club Juventus. Before moving to Italy, he had played for Spanish club Real Madrid for seven seasons. During this time, he won four UEFA Champions League titles, two La Liga titles and the 2011 FIFA Club World Cup. In addition, he also won the UEFA Europa League with Madrid twice.
Before joining Real Madrid, he played for Manchester United in the Premier League for one season, helping them win the FA Cup before leaving to join his current club, Juventus.
His career began in 2001 when he joined up with the youth system of Sporting CP. However, it wasn't until three years later that he made his first-team debut.
