Lehigh University is approximately 62 miles from the NovaCare Complex, where the Eagles will currently hold training camp. The school's campus is in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
The Lehigh Valley is a region in Northampton County, Pennsylvania, just east of Philadelphia. It is primarily known for its industrial history and as the home of Lehigh University.
There are several small towns in the area that serve as bedroom communities for both Philadelphia and New York City (N.Y.). These include Ambler, East Greenville, Emmaus, Lower Merlon, Millersville, Montgomery Township, Norristown, Oxford, Phoenixville, Plumsteadville, Salisbury Township, Schwenksville, Sunbury, Upper Darby, and Warminster.
In addition to holding training camp at Lehigh, the Eagles also use the facilities at the University of Delaware and the Navy Yard in Washington D.C. as well as their own facility in Clarkstown, New Jersey. The team was also planning on having training camp in Richmond this year but canceled due to concerns over the Ebola virus outbreak.
Performance Center for Intermountain Healthcare Unfortunately, the Raiders' training camp will be held at the Intermountain Healthcare Performance Center in Henderson, Nevada, rather than their traditional venue in Napa Valley, California. The team will hold its first practice on July 25 and will play two preseason games: against the Chicago Bears on August 1 and the San Diego Chargers on August 8.
The performance center is a state-of-the-art facility that features the latest in training equipment. It is about 20 minutes from the Strip in Paradise, Nevada.
The center was built by Intermountain Healthcare, which operates hospital systems across six western states, and it opened its doors in January 2016. Before then, the Raiders trained at the University of Nevada, Reno campus or the community college in Fernley, about an hour away from the Strip.
In November 2015, the Raiders announced they had signed a five-year contract with IHC to be their main training partner. Under the terms of the deal, IHC will provide all the facilities and staff needed for the Raiders to conduct their practices and games during the season. The organization will also receive other benefits including health screenings, injury management, nutrition counseling, and fitness programs.
IHC is a not-for-profit organization that focuses on patient care, education, and research.
The Philadelphia Eagles' 2021 training camp schedule kicks up today with the first of two consecutive sessions before a team walkthrough (no media access) on Monday. Around 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time, the Eagles will begin practicing.
Eagles' camp opens with an hour-long session that includes some individual work and 7-on-7 play. The second day starts at 10:00 a.m. with more team drills followed by position meetings and then off to the races for the final three days of camp.
Camp ends with players being given the weekend off on Thursday and Friday before reporting back on Saturday for another round of practices on Saturday and Sunday. That'll be the last we see of them until the season starts in early September.
Here's how much time has passed since the last NFL training camp started: Sunday, August 9th, 2019 - Eagles vs Redskins. Carson Wentz was still starting his rookie season after tearing his ACL earlier that year. He didn't miss a beat!
Training camps open around late July or early August and run through early August (except for the Texans, who opened their camp on March 5th). On average, they last about five weeks.
Intermountain Healthcare Performance Center: The Las Vegas Raiders will hold their 2021 NFL training camp at the Intermountain Healthcare Performance Center on Wednesday. The camp opens with a public workout on July 24th.
Raider Stadium: The team's training camp will be held at University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) from July 25th to August 1st. The UNLV Rebels will host the camp every year after they moved into Raider Stadium in 2003. Previous camps were held at various locations across California including Stanford University, UC Berkeley and USC.
The Raiders have not announced any additional dates or locations for their training camps beyond 2021. However, it is likely they will continue to stay in Nevada since that is where they will play their home games during the season. Oakland is over 100 miles away from where they are training currently so this location works best for both parties involved.
Raider fans should take note of where the camp is being held each year. If you want to see your favorite team train near you then go to certain dates in Nevada will help ensure that happens.
