Where are the next two Olympics?

The next Olympic Games are just around the corner. Following Tokyo, the 2022 Winter Games will be held in Beijing from February 4–22, 2022—seven months after the closing ceremonies of the 2021 Olympics. The following two Summer Olympics will be held in Paris (2024) and Los Angeles (2028).

The Olympic Charter states that the location of the games shall be determined by international agreement. However, since 1920, every host city has been a member country of the IOC. Since these cities have the ability to influence the selection of their host nation, they often make use of this opportunity by selecting themselves for the next Olympics.

For example, Berlin was due to hold the 1936 Olympic Games but was under Germany's control at the time so they did not take place. Instead, the Nazis decided to have their own sports festival called "Ich bin ein Berliner!" ("I am a Berliner!") which included a marathon race that was won by Erich Unterberger with a time of 1 hour, 51 minutes and 40 seconds. Berlin was again chosen as the venue for the 1940 Olympics but this time it was under Allied control, so they took place.

Similarly, Helsinki was selected as the venue for the 1952 Olympics but did not actually host the event because it was under Soviet control at the time. Instead, the Soviets sent athletes to other countries' events.

Where are the next Olympics after Tokyo?

After Tokyo, the 2024 Summer Olympics will be held in Paris, France. After Beijing, the 2026 Winter Olympics will be held in Milan-Cortina, Italy. The only other candidate city for 2024 is Los Angeles, but the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) has not decided whether to pursue that bid.

The USOC has not made a decision on whether to seek a third consecutive Olympic bid for Los Angeles. If it does, plans would have to be put forward by January 15, 2013.

Tokyo was the only city to submit a binding proposal before the closing date of February 9, 2011. The deadline for submitting proposals for 2024 and 2026 was January 31, 2013. Thus far, no cities have submitted further bids.

The IOC reviews each candidate city's proposal before making its selection. Each city makes a formal presentation before an international panel of judges. Candidates must show that they can deliver on their promises if selected to host the games. They also need to address any concerns or problems that may have arisen during the process.

In August 2010, the mayor of Rio de Janeiro announced that his city had been chosen over Chicago, Illinois and Toronto, Canada as the host city for the 2016 Games.

Where are the 22 Winter Olympics?

Beijing will host the Winter Olympics in 2022. The 2022 Games, which are set to take place from February 4 to 22, 2022, will be notable for various reasons, not the least of which being that they will be the first Winter Games (and only the second Olympic Games ever) to be hosted in China. Other games have been held in China, but they were all summer events.

China's decision to host the winter games is a major one, as it will put them on a par with the largest sporting nations in terms of size and popularity. It also means that Beijing can be expected to spend a lot of money to make its city center attractive and easy to navigate for tourists. The fact that most of the venues are located outside of downtown Beijing will help with this issue.

The capital city of China has never hosted a major international sports event before, so this will be a big step forward for it. It remains to be seen exactly how popular the games will be in China, but given the country's growing economy and increasing number of wealthy citizens, we should expect the games to be very successful.

The United States has traditionally dominated winter sports, but China is putting serious money into building a competitive team. They've already won several medals this year at the Winter Olympics, including gold in both snowboarding events.

Which is the second city to host three Summer Olympics?

With the Summer Olympics in 2012, London became the first city to hold three games. With the Summer Olympics in 2024, Paris will become the second city to do so, followed by Los Angeles in 2028.

What city will host the next Olympic Games? From July 23 to August 8, 2021 in Tokyo, Japan; and from February 4 to 20, 2022 in Beijing, People's Republic of China.

Every two years, significant cities throughout the world submit competing proposals to the International Olympic Committee for the opportunity to host the Olympic Games. The host city is normally chosen seven years before the games.
