When did New Mexico United get their name?

On June 6, 2018, the USL announced an Albuquerque expansion team that will begin play in March 2019. On October 9, 2018, the team unveiled its name, New Mexico United, and colors, following 226 fan proposals. The club intends to hire an in-state coach who knows the Southwest market and will be named later.

New Mexico United is owned by a group of Albuquerque investors who are committed to building a world-class soccer organization that will compete at the highest professional level possible. The team's crest features a red mountain with three white stripes and a black "UNM" lettering style logo.

The team has leased Santa Fe Stadium for its home games. The 25,000-seat facility is located just south of Santa Fe on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and serves as the primary baseball stadium for the University of New Mexico Lobos. The stadium was also used by the United States men's national soccer team during their 2016 Summer Olympics campaign.

Inaugural captain Matt Kassel is a native of Albuquerque who played four seasons of Division I soccer at North Carolina before signing with FC Dallas in 2013. He joined MLS after five seasons with the Tar Heels where he was part of two Atlantic Coast Conference championships.

When do the Dodgers play in the Cactus League?

The Dodgers' first Cactus League game is set for Saturday, Feb. 27 against the Cubs in Mesa, with their first home game against the Rangers at Camelback Ranch the following day. Given the frequency of COVID-19, it has been speculated for several months that the start of spring training and the big league season may be postponed. But on Thursday, MLB announced that both would begin on March 26 as planned.

The 2020 season was expected to begin on April 3, but due to the continued spread of the virus, that date has now been moved back a week to April 10. The regular season will end on Oct. 1. Los Angeles will remain camped out in Arizona this year while the team plays its home games at Dodger Stadium and the new stadium being built in Santa Monica will serve as its temporary home until a final decision can be made on a site in Los Angeles.

The Dodgers played their first game in Vero Beach, Florida, on February 14, 1916. They have not missed a season since then, going over.500 each year with the exception of 1918 (when America entered World War I) and 1941 (due to World War II). From 1972-1991, they went without a playoff game due to labor disputes.

Los Angeles has won more than half of their games every year except 1917 (when they only played 42 games) and 1991 (when they finished second).
