After the season, Pirri became a free agency and signed a one-year contract with the New York Rangers on August 25, 2016. He scored eight goals in 60 games for New York in 2016-17, but was not re-signed and joined the expansion Vegas Golden Knights on Oct. 4, 2017.
Pirri was sent to AHL Rockford on Sunday, according to CapFriendly. Pirri has eight points in six AHL games this season and was held scoreless in his lone NHL outing. This summer, the 30-year-old forward will be a free agent. According to CapFriendly, Pirri was promoted to the taxi squad on Thursday. He's expected to clear waivers tomorrow.
In 493 career NHL games with Montreal, Tampa Bay, and Chicago, the 6'1", 205-pound forward has 79 goals and 109 assists for 198 points. He won the Stanley Cup with Montreal in 2009.

Megna was drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the third round (85th overall) in 2009. He spent four years with their organization, scoring 34 goals and adding 42 assists for 76 points in 152 games.
After being bought out by the Penguins in 2013, Megna signed with the Columbus Blue Jackets on March 30, 2014. In his first season with the Blue Jackets, he appeared in all 82 games and notched seven goals and 12 assists for 19 points. The following season, he improved upon those numbers with eight goals and 16 assists for 24 points in 81 games.
