ET. Day 2 of the NFL Draft will begin at 7 p.m. ET on Friday, April 30. The first round will start immediately after the conclusion of the second day of the annual MLB Draft.
The NFL Draft will be held at the Auditorium Theatre in Chicago. The show will be broadcast live on ESPN and ESPN App.
In addition to selecting players with their top picks, teams can trade up or down in each round or even exchange picks with other teams. Teams can also sign free agents following the draft or negotiate contract extensions with drafted players. These negotiations take place directly between the agent and the team, with no involvement from the player.
The draft begins with rounds 1 through 3 followed by a 20-minute period where teams can make supplemental selections in order to complete their roster for the upcoming season. Round 4 consists only of compensatory selections given out by the league office who failed to select players in the earlier rounds. These selections are made at the end of every year based on players that were lost through retirement or suspension. No more than three players can be selected with these compensatory choices.
The final order of selection for rounds 5 through 7 will be determined by a random drawing on the night of the draft.

Cheatsheet for the 2021 NFL Draft The second day of the NFL Draft begins at 7 p.m. and is expected to end at 11:30 p.m. The second and third rounds are included. In the second round, teams have seven minutes per pick, and in the third round, they have five minutes. Teams that finish early can send their remaining picks to the next day's draft.
The first day of the NFL Draft starts at 8 a.m. and ends at 12:59 p.m. The first round is split into two sessions: the early rounds (rounds 1-3) and the late rounds (rounds 4-7). In the early rounds, teams have 15 minutes each to make their selection. In the late rounds, teams have 10 minutes. If a team wants to wait until later in the day to select someone, then they can do so but they will only get 30 minutes instead of the usual 60.
Teams can save time by calling positions before they pick or by looking at other team's draft boards. A team's general manager also has the option to pass on any player available. If a player isn't selected, then he is considered an "undrafted free agent."
The NFL Draft is held every year in mid-to-late April. The exact date changes depending on what day happens to be closest to 16th April.
When does the NFL Draft begin today? Rounds 2 and 3 of the 2021 NFL Draft begin tonight at 7 p.m. ET, one hour earlier than the start time on Thursday. The second round will only give teams seven minutes to make a decision, while the third round will only provide teams five minutes to make a decision. Teams will be able to choose anyone they want in these rounds - if someone is still available when their pick comes up, they'll be able to select him. In all other cases, their choice will be determined by how many players are left on the board at that position.
The league has decided not to hold a traditional "redraft" process this year because it would put too much pressure on lower-tier players to perform well enough to get drafted. Instead, every team will be required to submit a signed waiver in order to avoid being forced into drafting a player who falls outside of their allotted selection.
Here's how the draft will work: Each team will have two minutes to decide what type of pick they want to make (i.e., first round, second round, etc.). If a team wants to go over twice within the two-minute window, then they can do so without having to sign a waiver. Otherwise, they will have to wait until after the conclusion of the second round to make their selection.
Each spring, the NFL Draft takes place over three days (Thursday through Saturday). On Thursday, just the first round is played. On Friday, each team has its turn at the podium, going in order of win-loss records. On Saturday, the remaining picks are made.
The draft was created by former Chicago Bears owner and player George Halas to help his ailing football club. He believed that by having a better understanding of their needs and selecting players who would be happy to join the Chicago Bears, they would have a better chance of winning more games. The draft has been held every year since its inception in 1967 except for 1970 when it was canceled due to labor strife.
An athlete who plays professional football (the NFL) can make a lot of money. In 2014, the average salary of all NFL players was $724K. But some top players can make much more than this. A few years ago, there were only two teams that did not have a player selected in the Top 10. These were the Super Bowl winners of 14 and 15 - Baltimore Ravens and New England Patriots.
In the modern era of the NFL (1967-present), the draft has become one of the most important parts of the offseason program for teams.
Dates for the 2022 NFL Draft/Start Dates: April 28, 2022 The 87th annual meeting of National Football League (NFL) teams to choose newly eligible players will be held in 2022. The draft is scheduled for April 28–30, 2022, in Las Vegas, Nevada. It will be the first NFL draft to take place in the month of April since 2001.
The 2022 draft will be the first that does not include the traditional redraft portion. Instead, it will consist entirely of college players who have declared for the draft but may not end up being selected by any team. These players will be chosen in separate rounds designated as "early" and "late". The early round will begin on Thursday, April 25, at 8:00 a.m. ET and conclude on Saturday, April 27, at 11:59 p.m. ET. The late round will begin on Sunday, April 28, at 12:01 a.m. ET and conclude on Monday, April 29, at 8:00 a.m. Teams will be able to have their current scouts select players they believe will be available after all other teams have passed. These players will be sent to work out at their facilities and if drafted, they would be assigned to a new team.
The league has determined that this format will provide more opportunities for players to get selected.
