The purpose of the game is to score more goals than the opposing side by having the entire ball travel over the goal line, between the goal posts, and under the crossbar without being tossed, carried, or intentionally propelled by the hand or arm.

In this case, the team that gave up the touchdown or attempted conversion gets penalized 15 yards and has a chance to come back after replaying the last series of downs.
Overtime is played if the teams are tied at the end of regulation time. It is the same rules as the first half, but each team gets only one possession. If the teams are still tied at the end of four minutes, sudden death overtime begins.
The aim of the game is to use just your feet, head, or body to push the ball into your opponent's goal. Only the goalkeepers have the ability to touch the ball with their hands. The squad that scores the most goals is the winner.
There are two ways you can score goals in football: by shooting at the net from outside the penalty box or inside it. If the ball goes into the net behind the opposing goalkeeper, then this is a goal. You can also score by putting the ball into the other team's goal with a free kick or penalty kick.
There are several types of free kicks including direct free kicks, corner free kicks, and throw-ins. In some cases, the referee may call for a video replay of certain decisions.
A direct free kick is given when the player who receives the ball takes a shot without turning. This type of free kick is usually taken around 25 yards from the goal. A player can only take a direct free kick if there is no offside position.
An indirect free kick is given when the player who receives the ball passes it to a teammate who can score. This type of free kick is usually taken around 35 yards from the goal. An indirect free kick can be taken if there is an offside position.
A foul allows a player to win a free kick.
