In Europe, basketball courts are usually made out of asphalt or concrete and are usually about 5 meters (16 ft) wide and 28 cm (11 in) deep. The height of the backboard does not matter for international games; however, for national competitions, the boards must be the same size as those used by NBA players.
In Asia, basketball courts are usually made out of dirt and have a width of 25 meters (82 ft).
