The Jordan Jumpman emblem is featured on the Tar Heels' helmets. The University of Oklahoma became the Jordan brand's third football program to be sponsored. Beginning with the 2018-2019 season, the football, men's basketball, and women's basketball teams will wear the Jumpman logo.
The Jordan Jumpman logo was first introduced in October 1993 at the onset of the NFL season when Carolina Panthers quarterback Jake Delhomme led his team to a 9-7 record as he completed 70 percent of his passes for 1,977 yards with 16 touchdowns against 12 interceptions. The Jumpman logo will be worn by the Panthers during Delhomme's remaining three seasons with the club.
In 1994, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill began its partnership with Nike, who has been the sportswear company that supplies equipment to UNC's athletic programs. That same year, the university adopted the "Heineken Beer" logo as its new primary mark. However, since 1997, when UNCC dropped "Chapel Hill" from its name, all schools within the system use "Nike" instead. In addition to coaching staff members, student athletes at UNC can be seen wearing uniforms with the Jumpman logo. They are available for purchase through the school's annual apparel sale.
Because of Jordan's involvement with and ownership of the team, the Charlotte Hornets' jerseys feature the Jumpman logo rather than the Nike emblem. The University of Houston Cougars basketball team announced in April 2018 that they will become the eighth current college basketball team to adopt the Jumpman logo. The university plans to do so before the start of the 2018-19 season.
In addition to Jordan owning part of the Hornets, he also has a role with the New York Knicks. The Brooklyn Nets are based in New York City, where both the Knicks and the Hornets play their games. Jordan was given control of the Knicks after former owner George M. Forbes died in May 1993; however, he did not move the team to New York until November 1996. As such, Jordan can be found wearing Knick merchandise throughout the year, even though he has a contract with the Hornets.
He has two children named Michael Jr. and Jasmine. Michael Jr. plays for the New Orleans Pelicans while Jasmine attends the College of Charleston.
Jordan first played basketball at the University of Louisville from 1983 to 1988, when he entered the NBA as one of its most talented players. Over the course of his career, he won six championships with the Chicago Bulls and three more with the Wizards. He was voted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2016.
In 2014, Jordan released his autobiography called "One Last Time".
Michael Jordan will leave his imprint on every NBA club next season. Nike revealed on Tuesday that his famous Jordan Brand Jumpman emblem would feature on all NBA Statement Edition uniforms beginning with the 2020-21 season. The Jumpman logo will appear on the jersey's right shoulder and the shorts' left leg.
In addition to being a player who helped make Nike products popular around the world, Michael Jordan is also one of the company's best-selling athletes of all time. His impact on Nike is evident in many ways, including the fact that Jordan is now the most licensed athlete in sports history. During his career, Michael Jordan has won six NBA championships with three different teams, which makes him one of the most successful players in NBA history. He first started wearing Nike shoes during his rookie season in Chicago, where he led the Bulls to their first championship in 1991 before moving on to play for Seattle in 1995 and Philadelphia from 1996-98.
The original two Nike Air Jordans had a specific emblem for Jordan; however, designers Peter Moore and Bruce Kilgore used the Air Jordan Wings logo for the Air Jordan 1 and Air Jordan 2. The picture above, however, was utilized as Nike's first technical application of the Jumpman emblem on the Air Jordan 1 hangtag. This marks the beginning of the current Jordan logo that we know today.
The Air Jordan Jumpman Logo's History It was the first mid-cut basketball shoe, the first to combine an elephant print lifestyle texture, the first to showcase Nike's Air cushioning in a visible fashion, and, most importantly, it was the first Air Jordan to have the Jumpman emblem, which was positioned on the tongue.
The Jumpman silhouette has remained and continues to grow in legendary status after more than 30 years of Air Jordan sneakers since the AJ 3 and nearly two decades of Jordan Brand as a separate brand within Nike.
