If more than one person is nominated for consideration during their career, all but one are automatically dropped from further voting.

Voters can vote for up to ten individuals per class. Candidates not elected will be listed next year's ballot.

The ballot includes questions regarding each candidate's career performance in terms of statistics, awards, and influence on the game.
Guard Alan Faenca, coach Tom Flores, wide receiver Calvin Johnson, safety John Lynch, quarterback PEYTON MANNING, contributor BILL NUNN, wide receiver Drew Pearson, and cornerback/safety Charles Woodson are the newest members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Each year, up to 15 players are selected for enshrinement.
Faenca was a first-team guard for eight seasons with the Chicago Bears and Detroit Lions, finishing his career with 88 games played, three interceptions, and six fumble recoveries. He was a key member of the legendary 1969 Chicago Bears defense that led the league in fewest points allowed (17.7). That season, the Bears went 12-2 and won the NFC Central division title. They lost the NFL Championship game to San Francisco 49ers 14-6.
Flores coached the Denver Broncos from 1995 to 1999 and had a 37-33 record during those years. He also has the distinction of being the first Hispanic head coach in the NFL.
Johnson finished his career as one of the most prolific receivers in NFL history. The All-Pro wideout caught 50 or more passes seven times and had at least 100 receptions in four consecutive seasons from 1994 to 1997. In addition to being a two-time NFL MVP, Manning is also the only player in NFL history with 500 wins as a starting quarterback (New York Giants).

The 22 coaches that have been inducted into the Hall of Fame If you think wide receivers and defensive backs have it difficult, remember that just 22 head coaches have been elected into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Since 1998, only five have arrived. That's less than one coach per year.
The fact that so few head coaches make it into Canton is evidence that they're not only important in deciding who wins and loses games, but also in developing young players and creating a winning culture within their teams as well.
However, it must be noted that no coach has yet to miss the playoffs because of injury or death. No one knows how many games a coach could possibly miss if he were to get sick or be killed in an accident.
Since coaches play such a vital role in determining whether or not a team is successful, it's not surprising that most college football programs look to hire a head coach who has proven success at another school. In other words, they want someone who is a good fit for their program and their style of play.
In addition to hiring a head coach, most colleges and universities will also need to hire a football director, strength and conditioning coach, offensive coordinator, defensive coordinator, assistant coaches, etc. .

Hello, Lions supporters! I'm Gary Lee Miller, and I am here to tell you about some of the important people that have helped make the Detroit Lions great. The team was founded in 1892 as the Detroit Wolverines by William Henry Ford and his brother Arthur B. They were joined by former Michigan football star John "Dock" Armstrong and Carl Storck who had been the manager of the Chicago White Stockings baseball team.
The Wolverines played their first game on September 21, 1892, and lost 9-0 to Yale University. Under the guidance of head coach Frank Longman, the team improved year by year, and by 1896 they had a record of 4-1-1. That same year, the Wolverines participated in their first intercollegiate game when they met Princeton. It was also the first time the two schools competed against each other. Detroit won that game 16-6. By 1898, the team's record was 33-4-3, which is the most wins in school history. That same year, the Wolverines went undefeated during the regular season and claimed their first national championship.
