Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defeated Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs 31-9 in Super Bowl LV, giving Brady his sixth championship. Brady helped secure his status as maybe the greatest quarterback of all time in his first season outside of New England in his two-decade career. The five-time MVP finished the 2018 season with 4,057 passing yards, 28 touchdowns against only eight interceptions.
Brady and the Patriots started off their title run by defeating the Jacksonville Jaguars in the AFC Championship Game 52-25. It was New England's ninth straight victory over a playoff opponent. The last team to beat the Patriots nine times in a row was the 2007 Pittsburgh Steelers who accomplished this feat en route to winning the Super Bowl XLIII.
In the NFC Championship Game, Brady and the Patriots will face the Rams' Jared Goff who has been nothing short of spectacular this postseason. In three games he has completed 70 percent of his passes for 1,719 yards with 14 touchdowns vs. just one interception. Goff has also rushed for four scores this year. He will try to become the first rookie QB since Peyton Manning in 1998 to start and win the Super Bowl.
Brady has already won three Super Bowls during his Hall of Fame career and is trying to become the first player to win six championships. He has always been able to turn it on when it matters most with him being named the MVP after each of his previous five titles.

They have made the NFL playoffs every year since 2002 and have won two playoff games against top-five ranked opponents (Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots). This season they lost in the wild card round to the Philadelphia Eagles but it can be said they were never really given a chance by fate.
Johnson bought the team in 1999 and spent more than $140 million on it over the next 12 years. He wanted to change the name from the Bucs to something else but the NFL didn't want him to because of the trademark issue. In 2011, he gave in and allowed the team to wear uniforms with a blacked-out logo during home games.
Brady has been the face of the franchise since it moved to Tampa Bay in 1998. He is the only player in NFL history with 300 or more career victories while leading multiple teams.

Given time, we can probably expect him to add at least one more Super Bowl title to his resume.

The Giants will be making their second appearance in three years. They went up 31-28 over the Falcons after both teams scored twice in the last 2 minutes before Atlanta's Matt Ryan threw an interception with 29 seconds left on the clock.
The victory was its first over Atlanta. It was also the first time the Giants had beaten New England since December 2003. Both teams have won their opening games this year - the Patriots defeating Pittsburgh 28-24 while the Giants defeated Dallas 27-23.
There was another honor in store for Brady. The victory equaled him for the most titles won by a starting quarterback in professional football with former Cleveland Browns quarterback Otto Graham and Green Bay Packers quarterback Bart Starr. Brady has now won seven titles, all of which have come in Super Bowls.
Brady and New England Patriots teammate Rob Gronkowski are the only players to have their names engraved on the NFL's MVP Trophy through six seasons (2011-2017). They are the first players to do so since Peyton Manning and Jerry Rice in 1995-2000. The two are also the only players to have their names engraved on the NFL's Most Valuable Player Award through six seasons.
Brady has been selected as a starter in every game he has played in during his career. He is the third quarterback in NFL history to start a season 11-0, following Terry Bradshaw (14) and Randall Cunningham (12). Brady is also one of three quarterbacks (Kurt Warner and Carson Palmer are the others) with at least 11 victories in a single season; he joins them as the only starters from 2011 still with their current teams.

In 2007, Brady broke the league record for most touchdown passes in a season with 28 while also leading the Patriots to another 14-2 record.
